Doctor
Earle McDaniel , DVM
|
Dr. McDaniel opened the Animal Hospital of North Myrtle Beach in 1976 after graduating from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. He built the new hospital and moved to its present location in 1984. Dr. McDaniel is a member of the Waccamaw Association of Veterinarians, the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association. He was recently honored by AAHA for his 25-year hospital membership and adherence to its strict medical and ethical guidelines. The hospital has been awarded the AAHA Accreditation with Honors. Dr. McDaniel served six years on the South Carolina Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners including two years as Chairman. He lives in Longs with his wife Karen and daughter Caroline, two alley cats (Elmo and Squeaky), a Brittany named Gus, a German Shepherd named 'Lissa that he adopted from the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach, a quarter horse/thoroughbred named Dody, a Tennessee Walking Horse named Sam, a quarter horse named Zippy and the feline barn supervisor named Eloise. |

Nicole Jones , DVM

Dr. Jones joined the Animal Hospital of North Myrtle Beach in 1995. She is a graduate of the North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine and, in addition to dogs and cats, enjoys caring for birds, reptiles and small mammals such as rabbits and hamsters. Dr. Jones lives in Calabash with her husband Thomas and daughters Elana and Sarah. Her family also includes a Labrador and three cats. |

Stacy Doty , DVM

Dr. Doty earned her veterinary degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994 and practiced for a year in Virginia before joining the Animal Hospital of North Myrtle Beach in 1996. Dr. Doty had worked both as an animal health technician and as a registered nurse before attending veterinary college. She lives in Cherry Grove with her border collie mixed breed dog named Sadie, a beagle mix named Shiloh, a Chihuahua named Queenie, and assorted cats. |

Karen McDaniel
|
Karen began working part-time at the Animal Hospital while pursuing her biology degree at the University of Georgia. Upon graduation, she returned full-time as a technician/receptionist/office manager. Now married to Earle, she has an 12-year-old daughter, two dogs, three cats, and two horses. |

Phylis Hilling , RVT

Phylis, our head animal health technician, is from Greensboro, NC. She received her Animal Science degree from Central Carolina Community College in 1990 and moved to North Myrtle Beach in 1996. Phylis and her two daughters share their home with a kitty named Snugglepuss, a kitty named Spideyman, a kitty named Fireball, and seven guppies! |

Angela Duncan

Angela is originally from Southern Pines, NC. She is earning her veterinary technician's degree with an online program sponsored by AAHA, the American Animal Hospital Association. She enjoys working at the Animal Hospital not only because she is gaining the experience needed for her degree, but because she gets to help animals when they are sick or injured. Angela keeps a boxer, a golden retriever mixed breed dog, a miniature dachshund, and a cat named Patches at her home in Little River. She is married and has a two children. |

Jessica Vanderveen

Jessica is a native of Little River and graduated from North Myrtle Beach High School in 2002. She worked part-time while in school and is gaining experience full-time with us now as she considers pursuing a degree in veterinary technology. Jessica loves her five cats (!), one bird and three dogs and loves her job because she "gets to work with animals and learn something new every day". She is married and currently lives in Little River with her husband and baby boy. |

Lisa Thompson

Lisa joined the Animal Hospital team in 1994. She enjoys meeting new people, bowling, and traveling. She loves being a veterinary receptionist because of the strong bond she creates between herself, our clients, and their "babies". Lisa resides in Longs and shares her home with her French bulldog named Beignet and her two cats Sterling and Footers. |

Kennel
Jean Pratt

Jean is originally from Rockland, MA but spent over 20 years as an Air Force wife. She moved to Calabash following her husband's retirement in 1978 and has worked at the Animal Hospital since 1983. She became the manager at Paws Inn upon its opening in 1985. Jean has always loved all sorts of animals and shares her home with three beagles named Snoopy, Patty, and Sally. Jean has three children and three grandchildren who know her as "Grammy". |

Karen Lowrance Karen Lowrance is originally from Jackson, TN. She loves her job at Paws Inn because she has a special way with animals. Karen lives in North Myrtle Beach and has three daughters. |  View |
Grooming
Chris Versage Chris began her grooming career in 1995 after graduation from the Rochester (NY) Institute of Dog Grooming. She moved from North Rose, NY to Myrtle Beach ("I love the weather!") in 1999 and joined the Animal Hospital/Paws Inn staff in 2000. She has three horses, eight dogs, and three cats. Chris loves her job as a groomer because it allows her to cuddle and love the animals and also make them look and feel good. "Paws Inn has a great team", she says. |  View |
Joseph Shea Like Chris, Joe is originally from upstate New York. He has worked as an animal care technician, groomer, and veterinary assistant for more than 16 years. Joe joined our staff as a groomer and kennel attendant in early 2006. He owns two whippets named Ivey and Lucas, two cats named Butch and Pumpkin, and a turtle named Albertha! He really likes working at Paws Inn because of the friendly, pet-loving atmosphere.
